Frosty Hope

We’re in a brittle time of year. The air is so cold it could crack. Drudgery is taking root. We’re stiffening. Oh, February, you can be hard on the heart.

But every now and again, the sun pokes through the clouds, piercing and bright. There’s hope in that fleeting warmth. It’s like nature is reassuring us to hold on for a little bit longer…hold on.

In a month, the forsythia will begin to bloom. Cherry blossoms are just around the corner. Pink magnolia tree buds, so big they feel like a celebration, will unfurl into floppy-petalled flowers.

We’re in a brittle time of year. We need hope.

hope

Keep turning your face toward the sunshine. Warmer days are coming.
